WHERE DOES BLOB PAINTING COME FROM?
Blob Painting originated in the US. Mike Hammer, well known in the art world, is the one who revolutionised the technique.
HOW DOES BLOB PAINTING WORK?
The basis is a flat lying canvas or painting ground. Depending on your mood, the background is painted with acrylic paint in one colour, in different colours, with a motif or left white. The blobs are applied directly from the bottle onto the background: for round blobs, hold the tip of the bottle vertically in the middle of the blob, just above the painting surface; for a special gradient effect, pull the tip slightly over the edge of the painting surface during application.
After just 24 hours, one layer is dry and the next can be applied. This creates, blob by blob, a colourful 3D image.
