Materials

  • 1.5 kg Beton zum Kneten

  • Dark Concrete Glaze, 28 ml

  • Sponge

  • Synthetic brush


Instructions:

  • Mix the concrete according to the instructions (see concrete label) before kneading, and generously coat the Styrofoam egg with it (approx. 8 mm). Leave a space at the bottom for it to stand.
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 6–8 mm, and use the cookie cutter to cut out three “flowers” for each chicken.
  • Divide one into two equal parts for the top and bottom panels.
  • Press these parts firmly onto the concrete ball while it is still wet.
  • Arrange the 2 remaining flowers for the two wings according to the sketch.
  • Press this firmly against the ball as well. You can let the wings move forward with the body.
  • The beak is made of two small elements carved freehand.
  • Once everything has dried thoroughly (at least 12 hours), paint the eyes with the glaze (which has been shaken well beforehand).
  • Use the sponge soaked in glaze to lightly color the attached pieces.
